Shoprite invites South African students to apply for its Bursary Programme for the 2024 academic year.

Bursaries are available in the following fields:
- Accounting (CA Stream – SAICA): 10 bursaries
- Biological and Agricultural Sciences: 10 bursaries
- Criminology: 3 bursaries
- Data Science: 10 bursaries
- Food Science: 10 bursaries
- Information Technology/Systems: 10 bursaries
- Retail Business Management: 60 bursaries
- Supply Chain & Logistics: 10 bursaries
Bursary Coverage:
- Tuition fees
- Books
- Accommodation allowance
The bursary value ranges from R30,000 to R60,000, depending on the study field and institution.
Work Back Obligation:
Graduates are required to work for Shoprite for one year for each year of bursary funding received.

Eligibility Criteria:
General Criteria for All Bursaries:
- South African citizen
- Under 27 years old
- Completed Matric
- Studying at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
Specific Criteria by Field:
- Accounting (CA Stream – SAICA):
- BCom Accounting, BAcc (CA stream) in 2nd to 4th year or PGDA/CTA
- Minimum 65% average and in Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation
- Biological and Agricultural Sciences:
- BSc in Microbiology, Plant Pathology, Botany, Zoology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or Agricultural degree
- 3rd or 4th year, with a 60% minimum average
- Criminology:
- BA in Criminology, BA Law/BA Social Work with Criminology major, BA Honours in Criminology
- 2nd year, with a 65% minimum average
- Data Science:
- Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Quantitative Management, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Data Engineering
- 2nd to 4th year or Honours, with a 60% minimum average, and 65% in Mathematics from 2nd year
- Food Science:
- Food Technology or Food Science degree
- 3rd or 4th year, with a 60% minimum average
- Information Technology/Systems:
- BSc/BCom in IT/Systems Analysis
- 2nd to 4th year, with a 60% minimum average
- Retail Business Management:
- Diploma in Retail Business Management
- 1st to 4th year (Advanced Diploma), with a 65% minimum average
- Supply Chain & Logistics:
- BCom Logistics (Quantitative Management), BSc Operational Research or related
- 2nd or 3rd year, with a 60% minimum average
